Produced by the Sukhoi Design Bureau, the Su-27 Flanker was designed to defend against American bombers. Since its initial production, numerous improvements have been made, including an export Su-27SK to China that eventually became the Shenyang J-11. During the Paris Airshow in 1989, Viktor Pugachev, with Su-27 Flanker B, performed the Pugachev Cobra. This maneuver raised the nose of the aircraft 120 degrees and remained in that upward position for the duration of the move. This is a faithful replica of the Su-27 Flanker B in a 1/48 scale.
