ACADEMY 12341 1/48 USAAF P-40N Warhawk "Imphal"

Model Aircraft Kit

Modified from the Curtiss P-36 Hawk, the P-40 Warhawk took to the skies in 1938. Warhawk was the US designation, while the British Commonwealth and Soviets used the Tomahawk designation for their P-40B and C variants and then the Kittyhawk designation for their P-40Ds and later variants. The P-40 served with the British in North Africa and the Middle East early in WWII. Although the aircraft lacked a 2-speed supercharged engine compared to Germanys fighters at the time, the P-40 proved itself a mighty low-altitude fighter. The production life of the P-40 resulted in nearly 12,000 aircraft. This model authentically recreates the US P-40N War Hawk Fighter and, when it is fully assembled, measures 21cm long and 9cm tall.
