The F4F Wildcat entered service with the US Navy in 1940. Heavy, rugged, and well-armed for its time, the Wildcat was not as fast or maneuverable as its nemesis, the Mitsubishi Zero. However, through the skill of pilots like Jimmy Thach and Butch O'Hare, it finished the war with a 6.9 to 1 kill ratio. This model kit faithfully recreates the USN F4F-4, which participated in the "Battle of Midway," in 1/48 scale.
