The AFV Club AF35267 1/35 IDF Shot Kal Gimel 1982 Model Tank Kit accurately recreates the Israeli Defense Forces Shot Kal Gimel main battle tank as it appeared during the 1982 Lebanon War. Based on the British Centurion, the Shot Kal received extensive Israeli upgrades that transformed it into one of the Middle Easts most capable armored fighting vehicles. This kit captures the distinctive appearance of the Gimel variant with finely molded details, accurate Israeli-specific fittings, and the features that made these tanks a mainstay of the IDFs armored corps.

Israel began modernizing its Centurion fleet in the late 1960s, replacing the original British powerplant with a more powerful diesel engine, upgrading the transmission, and incorporating improved fire control systems, communications equipment, and additional armor. The Shot Kal Gimel represented a further evolution of these improvements and saw extensive service during Operation Peace for Galilee in 1982, where it provided armored support in southern Lebanon and demonstrated the continued effectiveness of the Centurion platform decades after its original introduction.
