Developed by Taiwans Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC), the F-CK-1 Ching-Kuo was created to provide a capable air defense fighter during a period when access to certain foreign aircraft technologies was limited. Entering service in the 1990s, the aircraft combined modern digital flight controls, advanced radar and avionics systems, and multirole capability in a lightweight supersonic platform. The upgraded F-CK-1C variant introduced improved mission systems, electronic warfare enhancements, and greater operational flexibility.
