One of the Imperial Japanese Army Air Forces most formidable late-war fighters, this 1/72 scale Hayate captures the clean, purposeful lines of the Ki-84known to Allied forces as Frank. Entering service in 1944, the Ki-84 combined excellent speed, heavy armament, and strong climb performance, making it one of the few Japanese aircraft capable of challenging advanced Allied fighters such as the P-51 Mustang and F6F Hellcat on more equal terms. Despite being hampered by late-war production issues and material shortages, the Hayate earned a reputation among both Japanese pilots and Allied adversaries as a highly capable and dangerous opponent.
