The Jagdpanther Ausf. G2 tank destroyer, which entered military service in November 1944, was the last Jagdpanther variant that entered combat. It used the chassis and engine deck of the Panther Ausf. G tank. Like the Panther Ausf. G tank, it was fitted with a heating system for the crew. Like earlier Jagdpanther tank destroyers, it had superior firepower and strong armor. The Jagdpanther Ausf. G2 had some changes that reduced the labor and time consumed in production to a certain extent. According to their experience from operations, the German army added a general crane base on the top of the Jagdpanther Ausf. G2. When its needed, they could install a general crane to lift ammunition and other heavy equipment, or to replace or repair the engine. Thanks to these changes, the Jagdpanther Ausf. G2 became more adapted to the needs of battlefields.
