A distinguished member of the Royal Navys Dido-class light cruisers, HMS Argonaut served with determination across some of the most critical naval campaigns of the Second World War. Commissioned in 1941, she escorted vital convoys to Malta under relentless Axis attack and took part in the Allied landings in North Africa and later operations in the Mediterranean. Torpedoed twice in 1942once by Italian aircraft and later by an Italian submarineshe survived severe damage, a testament to both her construction and the resilience of her crew.
