The OA-10 Catalina was the U.S. Army Air Forces designation for the Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina flying boat configured for air-sea rescue duties during World War II. While the U.S. Navy used the Catalina primarily as a maritime patrol, anti-submarine warfare, and reconnaissance aircraft, the Army Air Forces acquired their own versions for search and rescue, where they played a critical role.
