The Super Sherman, formally designated the M-51, was a powerful 1960s upgrade of the iconic M4A1 Sherman by the Israeli Defense Forces. Armed with the French 105 mm CN-105-F1 cannon, the M-51 also sported a muzzle brake and a distinctive rear turret counterweight to offset the longer barrel. Enhanced mobility came from a 460 hp diesel engine paired with HVSS (Horizontal Volute Spring Suspension) and wider T80 tracksalternative improvements that extended the Shermans service life into the Cold War era.
